DC Comics have just announced their latest plans for high-profile creatords to work on new KAMANDI and OMAC serials. A few years ago, Jeremy Lewis, Dek Baker and Ed Hillyer brought us their version of the former. Dek’s back again, and with the also fertile
and productive skill of Dave Morris. Brian Azzarello and Lee Bermejo ought to watch their toes.
Omac got the axe in the middle of a multi-part story, with a rather unsatisfying ending by some idiot editor, as Morris phrases it, ‘Everything blew up. The End.’. Baker and
Morris decided to conclude the tale properly. Having previously worked
together on the Kirby-inspired ‘Wargods of Atlantis’, their enthusiasm and
professionalism are as apparent as ever.
This action-adventure romp is written and inked by Morris’ adroit movements and combined with Baker’s thrust of expressions, monster reconstructions and resonance expertly capturing an era of pure craft and true reason for mylar bags’ being.
