At first glance I thought this was a comic by Mike Weller - it has that open pen style and drawn-lettering - but it turned out to be something else. Robert Saunders, to be precise.
The story is nicely odd yet pedestrian. A young girl lives with her two dead flatmates who seem to have escaped from bodyworlds who she loved dearly but wishes would move and talk and stuff. But they are conspiring against her, stealing her herbs for their own nefarious purposes.
Being a slight, 12 page comic there's not too much more to it, but I was really taken with Robert's art. Static yet fluid, conveying the ordinary and the bizarre at the same time. The whole comic is online (along with the first issue) but if you see a copy I'd recommend snapping it up. Robert Saunders is someone worth watching I reckon.
The Solid Gold Oat Serial #2 is £1.00. Email for ordering details and check out his site. I bought my copy at Gosh! in London.
