I was originally going to go into detail about this tribute to the recently deceased Eileen Lucas, grandmother of Andy Luke, involving likenesses to to Eddie Campbel and various references to the highly original and unique methods of story telling....
But seriously, fuck that.
YOU MUST OWN THIS COMIC.
I have read it several times now and not once managed to hold back tears AND laughter. It is raw, heartbreaking and beautiful.
Andy Luke so completely and succinctly wipes the floor with everyone else in small press and proves that when he has something passionate and personal to affect him, he is the best there is.
His writing is unique, his art messy and flowing, and there is NOTHING that could be changed about this comic without reducing it's effectiveness.
This is what small press is for.
Definitely THE BEST COMIC OF 2007. I dare anybody to disagree with me.
